NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL — January 31st — The City of New Smyrna Beach Fire Department revealed that its newest class of recruits has finished three weeks of training at the department's New Hire Academy. The training involves a variety of hands-on exercises intended to prepare firefighters for real-world crises. This week, recruits practiced vehicle extrication, stabilization, tool use, and coordinated rescue operations. Officials stated that these abilities are essential for responding to motor vehicle accidents, which continue to be a prevalent call type for fire and rescue organizations throughout the region.
