MUNSON, FL — January 31st — To help the Florida Forest Service with a big wildfire at 3 Notch Road and Reed Lake, the Munson Volunteer Fire and Rescue District, located in 11688 Munson Hwy, Munson, FL, United States, was called in. West of 3 Notch Road and south of Simmons Road, the first units discovered an active fire encompassing approximately 200 acres.

Munson workers helped with exposure protection, water delivery, and coordination with wildland resources to support suppression activities. After leading activities, the Florida Forest Service declared the fire contained. There were no recorded structural losses or injuries. The cause of the fire is still being looked into. Because of the region's elevated risk of wildfires and dry weather, officials continue to warn residents to exercise caution when burning outside.
