ENGLEWOOD, FL — January 20th — During Career Exploration Day 2026 at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center, the Englewood Area Fire Control District, located at 579 S. Indiana Ave., Englewood, FL, United States, engaged with eighth-grade students in Charlotte County. Public Information Officer Dunn and Fire Marshal Brooks gave information about emergency medical services, fire prevention, and firefighting vocations.

Students gained knowledge of everyday duties, necessary qualifications, and the value of communication and teamwork in public safety. The lecture also emphasized community service, education, and physical health as essential prerequisites for joining the fire department. In order to raise awareness of emergency services and prepare the next generation of public safety workers, the district continues to promote youth outreach and recruiting initiatives through school programs and community activities.
