NORTH PORT, FL — January 19th — In order to improve operational readiness, North Port Fire Rescue members from 4980 City Center Boulevard spent the day in the department's training tower performing practical evolutions. Key fireground abilities, such as forced entry, ladder operations, and aerial apparatus placement, were the focus of Station 86 "A" Shift. Crews practiced a number of scenarios that focused on communication, cooperation, and making safe decisions in practical settings.
In order to promote consistent operations on emergency situations, company officers kept an eye on performance and reinforced best practices. As the department continues to train staff for technical rescues, structure fires, and other emergencies, North Port Fire Rescue continues to place a high focus on regular tower training. These initiatives support a growing community's expectations for safety and service while ensuring firefighters maintain competency.
