Three-Alarm Fire Displaces Residents at Brooklyn Apartment Building

BROOKLYN, NY - Late Saturday night, February 7th, the FDNY responded to a 3-alarm fire at 464 Clinton Avenue in Brooklyn, bringing approximately 45 units and more than 200 firefighters to the scene. Units arrived within minutes and found fire in the walls between the third and fourth floor apartments, which ultimately extended up to the sixth floor and into the cockloft, impacting multiple apartment lines throughout the building. “Units were chasing fire in the walls, which spread from the top floor down to the first floor, affecting approximately 24 apartments,” said Deputy Chief James Carney. NYC Emergency Management assisted on scene, including securing a nearby school and providing a warming bus for displaced residents. All occupants were safely evacuated, and no civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
