February 11, 2026 — After more than two decades of dedicated service to the Town of Melbourne Beach, Engine-58 officially departed the Melbourne Beach Volunteer Fire Department for the final time. For 22 years, the engine served as the community’s frontline apparatus, responding to emergencies and helping protect lives and property throughout the town. Now, the well-maintained fire engine is headed to the Woodcrest Fire Department in Guthrie, Oklahoma, where it will continue its mission in support of volunteer firefighters and the community they serve. Department members gathered to mark the occasion, reflecting on the engine’s long history of service and expressing gratitude for the role it played in countless emergency responses. The transfer ensures that Engine-58 will remain in active duty, extending its legacy of public service beyond Florida and into Oklahoma.
