LUMBER CITY, GA — February 1st — The community expressed gratitude to the Horse Creek Volunteer Fire Department, located at 234 Powell School Road in Lumber City, Georgia, for their continued commitment and assistance, particularly during recent cold weather responses. Locals expressed gratitude to firemen for enduring challenging circumstances and staying prepared to respond at all times.

In order to continue protecting their communities, volunteer firemen frequently juggle training, full-time jobs, and family obligations. In addition to creating extra risks like ice roadways and prolonged operations, winter weather can increase the amount of calls. Public communication, readiness, and training remain the department's top priorities. Maintaining preparedness and enhancing the relationship between the fire service and the people it serves still depend heavily on community support.
