NORWICH, CT - At 5:11 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18th, the East Great Plain and Norwich Fire Departments with the Mohegan Tribal FAST were dispatched to 7 Waldo Road for a garage fire. A fire marshal quickly arrived reporting a working fire in a detached garage with an exposure problem on the Delta side. Engine 3 arrived and stretched a 1.75” hose line into the garage. Squad A laid in from a hydrant and established the water supply. Truck 1 used a circular saw and removed the garage doors to assist with access and ventilation. Engine 52 performed overhaul while Engine 2 and a crew from American Ambulance staged out front. The home sustained minor heat damage to the vinyl siding. Battalion 1 had command, and the Norwich Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
