Bonifay Fire-Rescue officially put its new Pumper 1 into service on January 30, signifying a significant transition for the agency and the community it serves. The new apparatus replaces a GMC Sierra fire truck that has served Bonifay since 1986, responding to countless fires, rescues, and emergency calls. During a push-in ceremony attended by firefighters, local politicians, and citizens, several former and current members shared their recollections of the long-running truck.

The new pumper was purchased using funds allocated by state legislators and is equipped with updated safety measures, contemporary firefighting gear, and increased dependability. Officials claimed the equipment will allow staff to respond more quickly and safely during emergencies.
