TIFTON, GA — January 19th — The Tifton Fire Department, located at 403 Forrest Ave., Tifton, GA, 31794, honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his enduring contributions to leadership, unity, and service. According to fire officials, his message still serves as a template for first responders who treat various communities fairly, respectfully, and professionally. The goal of the fire and emergency services is reflected in Dr. King's emphasis on equality and nonviolent service.

Every day, departments strive to improve public relations, encourage outreach, and foster trust. Public education, neighborhood initiatives, and collaborations that support readiness and safety are some of these initiatives. In order to honor Dr. King, department leaders urged citizens and responders to serve, volunteer, and take actions that promote public safety and harmony. According to them, these principles are still essential for community service and protection.
