Training Focuses on Vehicle Fire Safety

BLAIRSVILLE, GA — February 9th — Recruit Class 108 finished practical training centered on fire attack during vehicle fire scenarios, according to Union County Fire/Rescue & EMA, 507 Shoe Factory Rd, 30512. The course gave participants hands-on experience in coordinated operations, scene safety, and suppression techniques. Recruits reviewed common threats like fuel systems, electrical components, and undeployed airbags while practicing hose line deployment, fire control, and exposure protection. Size-up, communication, and wearing complete PPE were all emphasized by the instructors.


Vehicle fires are a common response, according to department officials, and they call for quick, coordinated action to save both the public and firefighters. According to Union County Fire/Rescue & EMA, ongoing practical training equips new members to function safely and successfully in actual emergency scenarios.
