North Port Crews Control Wildland Fire

NORTH PORT, FL — January 18th — A brush fire was reported near Fielders Road and North Raintree Boulevard. North Port Fire Rescue, 4980 City Center Boulevard, 34286, rushed to the scene. An estimated two-acre fire was blazing in scrub and wooded areas when crews arrived. To confine the fire and prevent its spread, firefighters collaborated with the Florida Forest Service.


Later, the situation was brought under control. To finish mop-up efforts and fortify containment lines, units stayed on the scene. No structures were under danger, and no injuries were reported. Visibility on Interstate 75 near mile marker 173 was impacted by smoke from the fire. It was suggested that drivers use caution or take detours. According to officials, public safety messaging and coordinated wildfire response are still crucial in dry weather.
