At 17:21 hours the box assignment was sent to 327 Calls Ct for reports of smoke coming from a house. Car 8 arrived to find smoke in the area and declared a working fire. Car 2 took command as he found smoke and fire showing from the 3rd floor of a 2 1/2 story dwelling. Engine 3 stretched an 1 3/4” line into the house and upstairs where they quickly got water on the fire. Searches were hastily conducted and turned up negative As crews opened up to check for extension they found fire in the void space of the knee walls on the 3rd floor. Exterior crews used a ground ladder to get onto the roof to perform overhaul. With all void spaces opened and fire knocked down the incident was placed under control at 17:44. Companies on scene completed overhaul. About an hour into the incident the scene was turned over to the Fire Marshal’s officer for investigation and the remaining companies cleared the call.
