Three-Day CERT Program Scheduled in Punta Gorda

Charlotte County Emergency Management announced that registration remains open for its upcoming Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training, a free, in-person program designed to strengthen local preparedness and response capabilities. The three-day training will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on March 11th and 13th at the Public Safety Complex, 26571 Airport Road, Punta Gorda. The training will cover disaster preparedness, fire safety, light search and rescue, disaster medical operations, communications, and other essential skills. Officials said the program helps residents safely assist their families, neighbors, and communities during emergencies until professional responders arrive.
