Hands-On Training Supports Firefighter Safety

THOMASTON, GA — February 2nd — As part of their continuous readiness program, Thurston Volunteer Fire & Rescue in Thomaston, Georgia, offered SCBA training. Members went over emergency protocols, equipment components, and how to use them properly when battling interior fires. Additionally, firefighters participated in practical exercises that emphasized communication, low-visibility movement, and air control.


Regular training, according to officials, keeps personnel competent and self-assured when they are working in dangerous conditions. The curriculum prioritizes cooperation and accountability while supporting national firefighter safety standards.
