CHICKAMAUGA, GA — February 6th — Firefighter C. Eich received recognition for completing the Georgia Smoke Diver Program from Walker County Fire Rescue, located at 107 Alex Dr., Chickamauga, GA. Advanced firefighting abilities, such as search, survival, air management, and operating in difficult circumstances, are the main focus of the intense six-day course.


According to officials, the program prepares firefighters to work safely during complicated structure fires and is renowned for its mental and physical challenges. Training includes realistic scenarios that build teamwork, communication, and decision-making under stress. Leaders of the department stated that continuing professional development is still a top concern. This kind of specialized training ensures that crews are ready to defend the Walker County community by enhancing firefighter safety, operational preparedness, and service delivery.
