MONROE, GA — February 16th — Harmony Elementary School was the site of a school outreach visit this past week by Walton County Fire Rescue, located at 1000 Heritage Pkwy, Monroe, GA. To encourage fire safety and improve ties with nearby schools, A-Shift officials spoke with staff and students. Basic preventative themes covered by firefighters were how to call 9-1-1, smoke alarms, and home escape planning.

In order to lessen anxiety and raise awareness, students were also taught what to anticipate when firemen arrived during an emergency. Early education is crucial for safeguarding families and communities, according to officials. According to department management, school outreach strengthens the close relationship between Walton County Fire Rescue and the kids, families, and employees they serve, promotes readiness, and fosters trust.
