WAYCROSS, GA — January 19th — In observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life and legacy, as well as his teachings on community, equality, and service, the Waycross Fire Department celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The day, according to officials, serves as a reminder of how crucial public safety personnel are to safeguarding and assisting different communities.

In honor of the national day of service and reflection, department personnel joined local groups and people. Firefighters are still concentrating on community engagement, education, and forming solid alliances. The fire service's everyday operations and interactions with the public throughout the Waycross area are guided by Dr. King's values of respect, justice, and teamwork, officials said.
