OVIEDO, FL — January 27th — Engaging with kids interested in fire and emergency medical services, the Oviedo Fire Department, located in Oviedo, Florida, took part in Hagerty High School's "Get Informed About Uniforms" career event. B-Shift representatives discussed training, certification, and day-to-day operations in the fire and emergency medical services fields with the students.

In addition to learning about academic options and career opportunities in public safety, students also asked questions and got information on fire safety. The event also provided time for community interaction, including activities with Avalanche, the school’s Husky mascot. Outreach initiatives like this, according to officials, boost the development of the future workforce, fortify ties with nearby educational institutions, and spark early interest in occupations that promote emergency response and community safety.
