SANFORD, FL — January 27th — To assist hospital staff and pediatric patients, volunteers from the Seminole County Fire Department Emergency Communications Center, located at 150 Eslinger Way, Sanford, FL, volunteered at AdventHealth for Children. The goal of the project was to make the areas that children and families receiving care utilize more hygienic and well-organized.

Volunteers cleaned a number of general play areas, including the hospital's Solar Bears themed room, arranged and tagged supplies and toys for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and sanitized the playroom in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. According to officials, these responsibilities helped healthcare workers stay focused on daily operations and patient care. The department expressed gratitude to Jocelyn Lopez, the AdventHealth coordinator, for coordinating the event, pointing out that the collaboration demonstrates a shared dedication to support and community service.
