SANFORD, FL — January 19th — In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Seminole County Fire Department, located at 150 Eslinger Way, Sanford, FL, took part in community activities throughout Seminole County. In observance of Dr. King's legacy of service, equality, and unity, firemen and their families marched in Sanford's annual MLK parade, which was staffed by Engine 36.

Members of Engine 26 interacted with locals and distributed public safety information during Oviedo's MLK parade. The department supported local partners, including the Midway Coalition and The Barbershop Conversation, which promote youth mentorship, education, and community dialogue. According to officials, the department's emphasis on outreach, prevention, and forming solid alliances with the various communities they serve is reflected in these initiatives.
