SANFORD, FL — January 17th — A local family received fire safety instruction from the Seminole County Fire Department, located at 150 Eslinger Way in Sanford, Florida, following a recent fire-related incident. In order to educate the kids vital fire safety and prevention techniques, Sanford Police Officer Ryan Byrd asked Engine 21 and Rescue 35, C Shift, for assistance.

During their meeting with the family, firefighters went over proper fire safety procedures, smoke alarm awareness, and house escape planning. According to officials, this kind of outreach lowers the risk of future fires and promotes early education. Firefighter Kaylee MacKey, Firefighter/Paramedic Thom Blum, Firefighter Alexander Kober, Engineer/Paramedic Michael Juachon, and Lt. David Gomez were among the crews acknowledged. The department pointed out that effective collaborations between law enforcement and fire departments keep enhancing community readiness and public safety.
