BELMONT, MA - Just after 9:00 P.M. on February 15th, Belmont Fire sent an assignment to 371 Belmont Street for reported wires arcing in the basement.
The original arriving engine company arrived to fire through the roof and declared a working fire. A second-alarm was struck moments later, bringing in multiple mutual aid companies to work and cover. Companies deployed multiple hand lines to combat a heavy fire load on the top floor of the large two-and-a-half story wood-frame building.
The fire was knocked down in a few minutes and companies remained on scene into the early morning hours overhauling.
