MVA with Entrapment and Fire on I-84 Westbound in Coldenham

COLDENHAM, NY - Coldenham Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with entrapment and fire on January 16th at the intersection of State Route 747 and Interstate 84 westbound exit ramp 32. Town of Newburgh Police and New York State Police were on scene, along with Town of Newburgh EMS. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate one driver from a vehicle. A second vehicle caught fire, and firefighters used a handline to extinguish the flames and spread speedy-dry on fluids on the roadway. The exit ramp was closed to westbound traffic. Town of Newburgh EMS transported two subjects to Montefiore St. Luke’s Hospital. The New York State Police are investigating the cause.
