Evesham Fire-Rescue Renames Leadership Award in Honor of Captain Kenneth “Satch” Harper

February 13, 2026 — Evesham Fire-Rescue presented its final award of the Annual Awards Banquet with a meaningful tribute, formally renaming its Leadership Award to the Captain Kenneth “Satch” Harper Leadership Award.


The department was honored to welcome Captain Harper’s family — his wife Terri, sons Kevin and Kyle, daughter Megan, and extended family — as the announcement was made. Chief Bittenbender shared remarks outlining why the award now carries Captain Harper’s name, recognizing a legacy defined by steady leadership, integrity, mentorship, and an unwavering commitment to protecting both his personnel and the department.


Captain Harper was remembered as a leader who set high standards, welcomed respectful dialogue, and ensured that every member under his command felt supported. His influence continues to shape the culture of Evesham Fire-Rescue.

The award stands as a lasting tribute to Captain Harper’s memory and serves as a reminder that leadership at its core is about mentorship, advocacy, and protection of one’s crew.


This year’s recipient of the Captain Kenneth “Satch” Harper Leadership Award is Deputy Chief Bob Zane. Deputy Chief Zane was recognized for exemplifying the values the award represents through his dedication to service, leadership, and commitment to the members and mission of Evesham Fire-Rescue.


The department proudly honors Captain Harper’s legacy while congratulating Deputy Chief Zane on this well-deserved recognition.
