Trailer Fire, Park Circle in Washingtonville

WASHINGTONVILLE, NY - At 2:09 P.M. on February 14th, the Washingtonville F.D. was alerted for a structure fire in the trailer park on Park Circle. Initial reports stated that a disabled male was in the residence with two dogs. Washington P.D. arrived and reported smoke showing. The Chief of Department reported smoke pushing from a double wide trailer and transmitted a second-alarm.


Enroute, the Lieutenant on Engine 584 confirmed with the 4 Firefighter crew that there was a search team and a team to stretch and operate a handline. The objective, conduct a search and get water on the fire.


The search crew entered the building while the one-and-three-quarter-inch line was being stretched. The search for the occupant was negative. He was already out of the building, however his dog did perish in the fire. Entry was made via the porch. 


Mutual aid was provided by the following departments: Vails Gate to the scene, Salisbury Mills to the scene, South Blooming Grove to the scene, Woodbury F.D., Monroe FAST to the scene, Goshen F.D. stood-by in Washingtonville's quarters, Blooming Grove Volunteer Ambulance Corps stood-by at the scene, Orange County Fire Investigators conducted the investigation (cause of the fire is under investigation at this time). Washingtonville P.D., Blooming Grove P.D and the Orange County Sheriff's Department operated at the scene.
