On 2/11/2023, the Litchfield Fire Department was clearing a medical call when they started receiving calls for a garage on fire. Because the duty crew was manning the rescue at the time, they needed to respond back to the station to pick up an engine. Callback members also responded to the station, and were able to get the first-due engine to the scene about 9 minutes after the initial tone out. Due to the number of calls being received, Litchfield Fire Chief Doug Nicoll requested the working fire, bringing Londonderry, Hudson, Bedford, and Derry to the scene. Companies had a garage well involved on arrival, with extension into a home. A second alarm was called, bringing Manchester and Windham to the scene, along with other towns. Crews dealt with windy conditions and small spot brush fires in addition to the main fire.
