YORKTOWN, NY - Along with the Bedford Hills Fire Department FAST, members of the Yorktown Heights Volunteer FD responded to a reported structure fire in the 200 block of Moseman Road on February 1st. EMS units, coverage companies, a ladder from Lake Mohegan, and mutual aid engines from Mount Kisco and Peekskill arrived in response to a 10-75 working fire. After confirming that everyone was outside, firefighters launched a vigorous interior assault. On the second floor, crews faced a deep-seated fire with poor visibility, intense heat, and wind-driven conditions. When the water supply was delayed by frozen hydrants, a tanker task force was called in, and there was a brief evacuation until the water was restored. Later, a second alarm was sounded.
