February 7, 2026 — Effingham Fire and Action Ambulance were dispatched at 3:43 p.m. to School Street for a reported structure fire. An automatic first alarm assignment brought mutual aid companies from Freedom, Center Ossipee, West Ossipee, Kezar Falls, and Newfield to assist. Effingham Car 1 arrived on scene at 3:49 p.m. and reported fire through the roof of a single-wide mobile home. All occupants had safely exited the residence prior to firefighters’ arrival, and no injuries were reported. Additional mutual aid from Madison and Tamworth was requested to supply extra water to the scene. The fire was declared under control at approximately 4:30 p.m., with crews remaining on location until 8:00 p.m. extinguishing hot spots and conducting overhaul operations. Effingham Fire/Rescue extended thanks to their mutual aid partners, dispatchers at the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Eversource, New Hampshire Department of Transportation, the American Red Cross, and Edwards Concrete & Excavation for their assistance and support throughout the incident.
