CAMBRIDGE, MA — January 29th — Box 192 at 126 Thorndike Street was the scene of a first-floor Christmas tree fire that was attended to by the Cambridge, Massachusetts Fire Department, 491 Broadway, Cambridge, MA, United States, 02138.
Companies that arrived promptly put out the fire and verified that it had not spread to the walls or upper floors.
Workers looked for concealed heat and ventilated the structure to get rid of smoke. At the time of the event, Group 3 was on duty. Two residents received treatment for inhaling smoke. There were no other recorded injuries. When exposed to heat sources, dried holiday trees can catch fire quickly, according to fire officials. Trees should be kept away from candles and heaters, and residents are advised to water them. The cause is still being looked into.
