AYER, MA — January 19th — In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy, the Ayer Fire Department celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day. A key figure in the civil rights movement, Dr. King promoted equality, nonviolence, and selflessness. His work expanded chances for many Americans and influenced civil rights legislation.


Residents are encouraged to support their communities by the federal holiday, which is also acknowledged as a national day of service. The obligation to treat everyone fairly and with respect is reflected in the observance for emergency services professionals. The department honored Dr. King's accomplishments on January 19th and reaffirmed its dedication to professionalism, solidarity, and public service.
