ASHLAND, MA - After an injury-inflicted fall in Ashland on February 4th, the Ashland Fire Department took a patient to a Massachusetts State Police landing zone in Framingham for transfer to Boston MedFlight. The typical helicopter landing spots were restricted by snow-covered fields near town, so crews utilized the state police position because it was accessible and secure. Ground operations coordination and landing zone security were aided by the Framingham Fire Department. Without any delay, the patient was moved to the flight crew. After operations were over, units cleared the area and went back to work.
