Wellesley, MA — January 19th — Wellesley Firefighters Local 1795 members observed Martin Luther King Jr. Day alongside communities across the country. Martin Luther King Jr.'s efforts to promote equality, justice, and nonviolent change are commemorated by the federal holiday. Public safety professionals are still guided by Dr. King's message of service.

His famous query, "What are you doing for others?" captures the essence of first responders' and firefighters' everyday tasks. Additionally, Martin Luther King Jr. Day is recognized as a national day of service, which promotes community involvement and voluntarism. In honor of the day, departments around Massachusetts remained fully prepared for any response and reaffirmed their dedication to provide equitable and professional services to all citizens.
