Medfield, MA — January 27th — In response to a two-alarm house fire, Walpole Firefighters IAFF Local 2464's Engine 1 arrived on mutual aid to help the Medfield Fire Department. In order to support suppression and overhaul efforts, more staff were needed for the event, which involved an attic fire in a two-story single-family home.

During prolonged operations, Walpole's crew provided manpower and assistance with fireground duties. In Norfolk County, two-alarm assignments are intended to unite nearby departments in order to guarantee sufficient staffing, water supply, and ladder coverage. There were no reported injuries. The coordinated reaction demonstrates the value of interdepartmental coordination during working fires and the robustness of the regional mutual help system.
