Medfield, MA — January 27th — The Medfield Fire Department was called to a two-story single-family residence that had been reported to have smoke coming from its attic. Companies started an internal fire attack after discovering a lot of smoke coming from the attic area.

In the attic area, firefighters discovered an ongoing fire. A ladder truck and more staff were brought in for roof access after a second alarm was sounded due to the size of the fire and overhaul activities. The firefighters evacuated and the fire was brought under control. A householder had shoveled snow off a nearby hydrant, providing instant access to water. There were no reported injuries. While the cause is still being investigated, mutual help departments provided on-scene assistance.
