Four residents displaced, pets perish in Chesterfield fire

CHESTERFIELD,VA-Three adults and one child were displaced on Jan 22, when fire ravaged their home in the 15500 block of Richmond Street. Numerous pets also perished.

It all began around 10:30 p.m., when a call came in to emergency communications for a structure fire.

Responding were Engines 218,214,201,217,Truck 214,Medic 218, Battalions 201 and 202, Safety 201, and Fire Marshals 206 and 209. County Police also were on scene and assisted.

"Scene upon arrival was heavy fire from a one story, single family dwelling, the front of the house," said Captain Joe Harvey, Deputy Fire Marshal, Chesterfield Fire and EMS.

Three adults and one child was displaced, three dogs and two cats died, said Captain Harvey.

The cause is under investigation.
