Millis, MA — January 27th — On mutual assistance, the Millis Fire Department, based at 885 Main St., arrived in Medfield in response to a reported working fire. As crews worked in challenging weather and scene conditions, Millis units were deployed to support the Medfield Fire Department. Under the guidance of incident command, firefighters from several departments collaborated to support suppression operations, maintain the water supply, and finish assigned tasks.

When events call for more personnel and equipment, departments can pool their resources through mutual aid responses, which continue to be a crucial component of regional fire protection. Crews managed well and carried out operations safely in spite of the difficult circumstances. Strong interdepartmental collaboration and ongoing preparedness throughout the area's fire service are evident in the reaction.
