Millis, MA — January 26th — During continuing winter storm operations, the Millis Fire Department, based at 885 Main St., responded to a plow truck fire this morning. The incident, which was handled by Group B, was the second car fire in two days that was caused by storm conditions. As soon as crews arrived, they put out the fire, minimizing damage to the car and lessening the effect on traffic flow.

There were no reported injuries, and the scene was stabilized without any more problems. Due to extended working hours, mechanical strain, and exposure to snow and ice, fire departments frequently witness a rise in vehicle fires during winter storms. Given that Millis firemen managed several storm-related responses while remaining available for other calls, the experience emphasizes the importance of maintaining preparedness during severe weather.
