MILLIS, MA - On January 21st, the Millis Fire Department arrived to the scene of a house fire that was called in by a police officer. A working fire was started after the officer alerted dispatch.

Chief Barrett arrived, assessed that the fire was controlled, and as Millis workers put out the fire, the assignment was scaled back. According to an inquiry, the cause was a construction worker oversight involving abandoned materials.

Units were already on a medical call at the time of the incident; Engine 1 was responding to the fire, and Ambulance 1 was transferring a patient.
