MEDWAY, MA - An elderly man who had fallen down a flight of stairs and suffered severe injuries was reported to the Medway Fire Department on February 3rd. Crews discovered the patient unconscious upon arrival and promptly called for a medical chopper to evacuate them quickly.

With the help of Medway Police, firefighters attempted to free the patient from a bulkhead in the basement. While providing patient treatment, crews plowed through the snow to create a clear and safe route from the house to the ambulance. To be transferred to the helicopter, the patient was taken to Station 1's landing area. Before transfer, the total amount of time spent on-scene was roughly 12 minutes.
