On January 16, the Augusta Maine Fire-Rescue and Augusta Uniformed Firefighters IAFF Local 1650 conducted a retiree breakfast at Hartford Station. The gathering brought a large crowd of retired and current members looking to reconnect and exchange stories. According to department officials, the breakfast is intended to celebrate retired firefighters and remind them that they are still a vital part of the agency's history and culture. The event also allowed current members to learn from individuals who had previously served the city.
