Dover, MA — January 18th — The Dover Firefighters Association responded to a suspected fire in a chicken coop. When crews arrived on time, they were able to immediately confine the fire, limiting overall damage and preventing it from spreading to neighboring structures. According to fire officials, a coordinated reaction and early notice helped contain the situation.
If left unattended, small outbuilding fires can develop swiftly, particularly in the winter when temporary heat sources and electrical equipment are frequently used. Residential and outbuilding fires are among the many types of situations that the Dover Firefighters Association frequently responds to. To lower the risk of fire and promote safe operations throughout the community during colder weather, fire authorities advised citizens to regularly check the wiring, lights, and electrical equipment in sheds, barns, and coops.
