Boston, MA — January 22nd — Massport Engine 2 arrived in the City of Winthrop to help with a reported working fire. They supported firefighters already on the site with mutual aid. As part of long-standing regional agreements that permit departments to pool resources during active incidents, the reaction was given.

Alongside the Winthrop Fire Department and Winthrop Firefighters Local 1070 members, Engine 2 responded under the auspices of the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts. During the incident, coverage was maintained and fire control efforts were supported by additional resources. IAFF Local S-2 firefighters from Massport, who are stationed at 162 Harborside Drive in Boston, frequently collaborate with other departments. The reaction highlights the value of cooperation and coordinated efforts among fire departments throughout eastern Massachusetts.
