NEWBURGH, NY - The City of Newburgh FD responded to 97 William St., February 4th, after Central Hudson reported gas readings in the walls. As Central Hudson was digging in front of the residence, firefighters stretched a line from the hydrant and started evacuating people from five buildings affected by the gas leak. The Red Cross was called for the displaced occupants. William Street was shut off in both directions while crews operated at the scene.
