The Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department held an emergency management training session on February 3rd that focused on fire scene awareness and evidence preservation. Members of the Lyncourt Volunteer Fire Department were also there, assisting with interdepartmental coordination and learning. The session was led by representatives from the Onondaga County Department of Emergency Management fire investigation team. Instruction covered steps firefighters should take to recognize potential evidence, protect scenes during operations, and document observations that may assist investigators after an incident.
