Hinsdale, NY — January 25th — At 10:15 a.m., the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on the I-90 onramp from southbound Interstate 81. The initial dispatch reported no casualties, but a suspected automobile fire.
Hinsdale Engine 8 and Rescue 5 arrived to find a single vehicle involved, with no fires. Crews discovered a major fuel spill and made efforts to seal the area and minimize risks to traffic and responders. Traffic conditions were impacted as units tried to contain the spill and make the area safe.
