Barre, MA — January 24th — After a caller reported that flames were spreading toward an adjacent home, the Barre Fire Department was called to a vehicle fire on North School Street. While units were in route and mutual aid partners were informed, a Working Fire broke out due to the home's close proximity.
Firefighters confirmed there was no expansion to the house when they arrived, but they did discover a fully involved automobile. Barre units, including Engine 1, Engine 4, Engine 5, Ladder 1, and Ambulance 1, handled the situation while mutual aid companies were put on hold. The fire was swiftly put out and rebuilt. There were no reported injuries or damage to the house. Until the area was secured and procedures were finished, crews stayed on the spot.
