A car crashed off the road and into a tree in Ravena early January.

The Ravena Fire Department was dispatched for a vehicle that crashed into a tree on Route 101 in the area of Route 9W on Saturday, January 14, around 12:45 p.m.

The crash was discovered to be on Route 101 at the turn between Route 9W and the Route 101 entrance to the RCS High School.

Chief Kevin Phillips of the Ravena Fire Department said there were two occupants inside the vehicle, both of which were evaluated by EMS and released at the scene.

He says speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.

Route 101 was reduced to one lane for the duration of the incident.
