A Quick Knock Down in Shirley

SHIRLEY, NY - On January 27th at approximately 4:00 A.M., the Suffolk County Emergency Dispatch Center received calls for a report of a structure fire on Sagewood Dr., off Thornwood. The Brookhaven FD and Shirley ambulance were activated to respond. The first arriving chief found fire coming from the front of the structure and a working fire was quickly transmitted. Arriving units began stretching lines to make a quick attack. Mutual aid was requested from Mastic and Mastic Beach Fire Departments. Crews were able to get a quick knock down of the fire. All primary and secondary searches were negative. No injuries were reported, however Shirley Community Ambulance was on scene for support. All units were back in service shortly after 5:00 A.M., with the scene being turned over to the Fire Marshal.
