January 21, 2026 — Baldwin County Fire Rescue was honored to join Georgia College & State University on Wednesday evening for the 2nd Annual Teddy Bear Toss at the Centennial Center. The GCSU Bobcats hosted Lander University in a Peach Belt Conference basketball doubleheader, with the special event organized and sponsored by the GCSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Fans who brought a teddy bear received free admission, and fire personnel proudly took part by tossing teddy bears onto the court when the Bobcats scored their first basket of the game. The event highlighted the strong partnership between public safety agencies, the university, and the community, bringing smiles to children and families while supporting a meaningful cause. Baldwin County Fire Rescue appreciates the invitation and remains grateful for opportunities to participate in community-focused events like this one.
